YouTube announced a number of new features for television screens, including instant shopping tools and low-resolution video quality enhancement techniques. The platform will automatically use AI to upgrade videos below 1080p to high resolution and plan to “near” support the upgrade to 4K paint, emphasizing that creators and viewers can choose to disable the feature.

YouTube states in its bulletin: “The creator will retain complete control of the collection, both the original file and the resolution, and will have a clear power enhancement disablement option. The viewer can still choose to view the original graphics in the settings, and the super-resolution feature will be clearly marked. “As the screen size increases and 4K resolution spreads, almost all mainstream television brands have an AI graphics upgrade technology, and a similar feature is provided by the Shield TV stream media device in Weida. But YouTube’s disablement option is particularly interesting. In the past, creators complained that the platform ‘ s optimization of the video without consent had led to a distortion.

Youtube’s spokesman, Veronica Navarrete, confirmed to The Verge that automatic painting upgrades only apply to upload videos with a resolution ranging from 240p to 720p, and that the original video, which the creator had created by its own number, was not affected. At the same time, the platform has raised the maximum size of the video thumbnail from 2MB to 50MB to support 4K images and is currently testing with some creators for a larger video upload. For videos that point to shopping goods, the viewer will soon be able to quickly buy a two-dimensional line-up of the television page by scanning the phone, and YouTube is also testing the ability of creators to display their goods at specific times of the video.

The general viewing experience upgrades include: a preview of the immersion home page that allows quick viewing of the subscription channel; the introduction of a new version of the “program” interface for creators of video by Netflix season; and the prioritization of the context search optimization of the channel’s content when users search the channel page. YouTube says, “Television screens are the fastest-growing end of our life, and we’re going to continue to introduce a feature that makes the creators shine.”
